    A Family Reunion

    BIBLE BASIS

    Luke 15:11–24

    MEMORY VERSE: β€œFor this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry” (Luke 15:24).

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will: (1) Recognize God’s compassion through the parable of the prodigal son; (2) Feel the need for reunion in families and connect that to our relationship with God; (3) Share God’s compassion to reconcile with a repentant prodigal.

    BIBLE BASIS: Luke 8:26–36

    MEMORY VERSE: β€œThen they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid” (Luke 8:35).

    LESSON AIM

    By the end of the lesson, we will: (1) Know the details of Jesus’ healing of the Gerasene man from his demons; (2) Empathize with those who have great troubles; (3) Start, support, promote, or work in a church counseling program.These notes are PERSONAL study notes ONLY.     BIBLE BASIS: Deuteronomy 6:3–9, Matthew 19:3–9

    MEMORY VERSE: β€œThese commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6–7).

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will: (1) List the main points of Deuteronomy 6:3–9; (2) Explain the context of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 19:3–9; (3) Write a letter to encourage the faith of a younger believer.

    1. Know the story of Jesus’ tenderness for the repentant woman and His forgiveness of her sins.
    2. Express the great joy that comes from knowing our sins have been forgiven.
    3. Forgive others for their failures, shortcomings, and hurtful actions.
