Thomas, the Hesitant Believer

Bible Basis: John 11:14–16; John 14:5–8; John 20:24–29; John 21:1–2

Memory Verse: “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing” (John 20:27).

1. Identify Thomas’s development as an observer of Jesus’ life and ministry.
2. Explain why the Gospel of John might emphasize Thomas’s refusal to believe without seeing Jesus for himself.
