LESSON STUDY NOTES

Foundations of Faith

Bible Basis: Isaiah 40:21–31

Memory Verse: “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding” (Isaiah 40:28).

Bible Truth: Isaiah declares that God is the absolute power in whom we should depend.

Lesson AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will:

1. DISTINGUISH God’s power to control and effect change with human inability to do the same.
2. REFLECT on the poetic imagery the writer uses to witness to God’s sovereign power and personal presence with the people.
3. EMBRACE God’s sovereignty and ability to address people’s situations and needs.
